Atimo is a four-door storage cabinet comprising slitted elements held together by hidden structures.
Each element is hand finished on all sides.
The whole manufacturing and finishing process is done completely by hand in our own atelier.
The wood used for this piece is Juglans Regia – common Italian Walnut, not dried, but “raw”.
This wood, which belongs to the Latin tradition of furniture making, is characterised by a very compact fibre but at the same time can be worked without too much difficulty, and is therefore very suitable for making household structures.
The oblong slit window is a full module, a structure made of four wood elements that hold the glass. These elements, held together by hidden structures, help recreate a constant structure with a significant architectural feel. The glass slits are chance to imagine the inside of the cabinet, suggesting a comfortable and welcoming space, protected and almost liveable.
